2006 was the year when the hard rock group Lordi won the Eurovision Song Contest and took Finland's first ever victory in the festival. But it was also the year that Extraljuskungen (Extra Light King) saw the light of day for the first time.

The story of Extraljuskungen

The story of the Extraljuskungen began when Pelle wanted lighting on his helmet when he drove his snowmobile. After experimenting for some time with halogen lamps, different beam angles and mounting designs, he came into contact with xenon conversion kits through an acquaintance. A xenon kit was bought and the experiment continued with good results and the brothers Pelle and Ola decided to invest together and a box of 12 xenon kits was ordered from a manufacturer in China. Later in the autumn, the web shop was started and sales of xenon kits, vehicle lubricants and the own product xenon helmet lamp quickly took off.

The warehouse in the first years was two sheds with a total of 20 square meters, the orders were more and more, it was crowded and difficult work. In 2009, the search began for a larger premises that could accommodate both warehouse and a shop. In 2010, an existing service and repair company was bought with a rented premises of approx. 250 square meters, there was room for a shop for local customers as well as a significantly larger warehouse for all xenon kits, extra lights, etc.

In 2016 it was time again, an industrial property on the street next door was for sale, 540 square meters, shop part with large shop windows, warehouse and workshop. Now the purchases could increase, a large number of pallets had space instead of a few boxes. It couldn't get any better than this! But both the range and the number of orders just continued to increase, much thanks to Norway, which in 2018 relaxed its previous strict rules when it came to auxiliary lights, a branch is opened in Norway, Ekstralyskongen. In the same year, a call came from Australia, it was STEDI that was looking for a partner who could distribute their products on the European market. No longer consideration time was needed, their LED products, model-adapted mounts and switches etc. are of very high quality at a reasonable price. However, it did not take long until the business outgrew this premises as well. Pallets, cartons and products stood in the aisles, areas intended for loading and unloading became storage areas and the number of packing tables was not enough. It was time to look for a bigger business premises, again!

But no better premises in Avesta were available at the time, so there had to be an extension of 350 square meters for the workshop and high warehouse, which was ready in the summer of 2021. That freed up about 150 square meters in the old part, so now it is possible to walk in the corridors again, plenty of space when loading and unloading. We are very satisfied with the result and can now offer installation of all types of lighting on all types of vehicles.
